Counselor
I am a native Oregonian who spent half of my life living in Vermont and Massachusetts. I have an undergraduate degree in Music Theory & Composition and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University here in Oregon which is one of the few APA accredited schools in Oregon. I live in Sherwood Oregon on a small farm where I spend as much time as I can outside. I am still an active musician, soccer coach, and I am an avid fan of games of all types, movies and music of most genres. My passion for counseling comes from my own experiences with ADHD, addictive behaviors and learning to balance my own life. I am always learning through trainings, colleagues and even from the clients I support.
Coach
I worked as an executive leader for 15 years including as CEO, COO and Product Leader in technology and healthcare companies. My business coaching practice is run through RJCG with my friend, mentor, and colleague Dr Rick Johnson where we use an Integrated Self Leadership approach and the PRINT tool to help individuals and teams build cohesion, manage conflict and improve strategic planning and execution.
Background and Approach
My experience with inpatient mental health at Portland Providence Medical Center and private counseling practice have given me a broad perspective on working with individuals with varying needs. Counseling is the most rewarding work I have found in my own journey. Allowing someone to grow in a safe, open and support environment is my utmost goal. I have helped guide many people towards a healthier happier lives.
I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I also integrate internal parts work such as you see in IFS or internal family systems counseling. With the uniqueness of each client my approach is to find the best framework mixture for each client individually.
